Our nation, which once — for the most part — promoted righteousness, has been promoting things in the world that are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. Our God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness, but he also forgave and restored Nineveh when they repented of their wicked ways! He did this with a great revival that spread from the top down.

Only the spirit of repentance sweeping across our land can change the hearts and minds in this nation. We desperately need a revival, which will be what spares us from God’s judgment. This revival can begin with you and me!

In the past those whom God used to bring about revival were men and women of God who had sought Him with all their hearts — men and women of prayer. We cannot stop praying until we see revival become a reality!

In Luke 5:9-11 when Jesus is teaching his disciples how to pray he says, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” We see that we are to ask, seek, and knock. These are all actions that one must do to obtain something.

The Lord tells us in Scripture that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We see an example of that in 2 Chronicles chapter 1 when King Solomon goes up to Gibeon and offers one thousand burnt offerings to the Lord. Then, on that night the Lord appeared to him and said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” and the Lord granted Solomon his request. One thousand burnt offerings took effort and time, but his diligence — his seeking and knocking — was rewarded.

Throughout Scripture we can see the amazing results of those who sought after the Lord with all their heart. Kings became strong and prosperous when they sought after the Lord. When they did not they fell before their enemies. For example King Rehoboam did evil because he did not prepare his heart to seek the Lord, yet King Jotham became mighty because he prepared his ways before the Lord.

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him! He promises He will be found by those who seek Him. Today as our nation is being destroyed, He is looking for those who will be as Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Deborah, and Barak — men and women who willingly offer themselves to the Lord for the sake of His people, who seek the Lord with all their hearts.

God does not need a multitude in this battle for America. America can be saved through a few who are giving themselves to the Lord.

Revival can begin with you and me!
